Also if you see a fursuiter. Don’t just go up and pet them jfc I cannot tell you how much people pet me in loftwing, even when I’m just walking by, I mean it’s rude and frankly kind of violating

One time when I was wearing my loftwing cosplay, a little kid came up to me because she wanted a picture with me. So I put my wing out next to her and she reached up and pulled it and my other wing around her like a blanket burrito and aaaah it was so cute :3

Ohh ok! So its like a normal hinge like on a resin mask but on the inside? And i’ll show you wips! I’m either doing Zelda’s loftwing if I can find the right blue, or a knight one with a helmet. Right now I’m working on an epona quad as well haha xD

Yup, basically! I just had a lot of trouble because not only do I suck at these kinds of things but I was trying to hinge on a rounded surface. XD;; And aaaaah, that’d be so awesome if you did Zelda’s! Maybe we could meet at a convention then and snuggle. :3 (Also TP Epona is on my list too /laughs forever) Good luck with all those costumes, haha!

So I finally started my loftwing cosplay and was kinda stumped on how to go about hinging the head. Would you mind sharing your process? :)

Oh my frickin goddesses, hinging the head was an absolute nightmare. Good luck with this one. I’ll try and explain as best I can because it’s still a little screwy at best.

First of all, I hinged it right beneath the eyes because that’s the farthest I wanted it to open. Make sure that a lot of the back of the head is cut off, for there to be room for the top part to open/back of the top to swing downwards. Basically it was just two pieces that we screwed and then epoxied into the inside of the head (one on the top piece, one on the bottom; one set for each side) that were attatched by a nut and bolt that was then also epoxied. (Though I might recommend using a locknut instead, the nut I used is epoxied because it kept loosening as the head was opened and closed. I still have to keep an eye on it in case the epoxy ever comes off, which HAS happened once. With a locknut you shouldn’t have this problem.) But it was mainly a huge headache that I don’t ever want to do again. ^^;; I’m sorry I’m terrible at explaining things…Here’s a picture (don’t know if it’ll help?):

I required a lot of help, but that’s because I suck at these kinds of things. XD;; Good luck! (By the way, I’d LOVE to see WIPs or the finished product if you feel like showing them to me :3 Which Loftwing are you making? )

Okay so thanks to a new extension from xKit I can FINALLY see all the comments people made on my popular posts in the tags (b/c otherwise it’s just too much to click on every reblog and see the tags |D )

A lot of people think the loftwing is a plush?? Friends the loftwing is not a plush. It is part of a loftwing cosplay and it was made by me :3
